The purpose of this study is to examine the issue of foreign debt and the creation of the country's monetary and banking system during Trujillo´s government in 1947. As we know, numerous theses have been made regarding these issues, but all of them lack much support and analytical rigor. This essay offers a different version from those already known, underlining that the creation of the national currency involved a large fraudulent business that benefited the dictator and several of his economic advisers.
