Abstract

In this article the background of the Russian Revolution was analyzed, highlighting the Narodniki or Russian populists and their adherence to Marx’s theories. The different stages of the Bolshevik Revolution are collected as well as the predominant role of Lenin and Trotsky for this triumph. The conformation of the Soviet System is analyzed with critical vision and it is specified that today it can hardly be considered as socialist, but rather a dictatorship of the communist party, which agreed to impose itself as a guarantee of the realization of the revolution. It is argued that this did not prevent the direct global reach of this revolution. Its novelty and impact was that it sought to transform the fate of the human race. When analyzing failed socialist experiences, it is suggested that this should not mean the denial of the revolutionary path, but rather its rethinking in the face of current determinations of reality.
