Abstract

The remains of General Pedro Santana rest in the hall of the immortal patriots, known as the National Pantheon or Pantheon of the Fatherland. They were taken there by the considered anti-patriot, repressive and enemy of the Dominican people, Dr. Joaquín Balaguer on July 23, 1978; 23 days before the transfer of command to the government of Antonio Guzmán Fernández, from the Dominican Revolutionary Party. However, those remains should not stay a minute longer in that sacred place. General Santana annexed the Dominican Republic to Spain on March 18, 1861. He died having sworn under the Spanish flag and committed countless crimes against the faithful followers of the Trinitarian ideal of a Dominican Republic totally free and independent of all foreign domination. These are the main reasons why.
