These brief lines give some brushstrokes ―at least― to two aspects of the fruitful profile of the outstanding historian and teacher of generations, Dr. Emilio Cordero Michel (Santo Domingo, 1929-2018), just several months after his death.
Opportunity to honor one of the most acute and intelligent academics in the country, who, modestly and without excessive pretensions, impregnated with knowledge and decorum the exercise of his-toriographic research both in the country and abroad.
Approaching Cordero Michel now, after his pilgrimage and his departure, becomes not only a challenge for those of us who were able to treat him over a period of time; but rather a pleasant adventure, which is to distinguish petals in their careful and dignified clothing as a university professor and permanent academic of Dominican history.
