Abstract

The concept of "negrophilia" is interesting. It was used as an indictment to cover two aspects of the social life of the XIX century, the defense of the Negro slave and the sympathy for Haiti. Two processes against the "negrofilia" were carried out during the mandate of Pedro Santana, one in 1845, against General Manuel Mora, and the other in 1847 against the Puello brothers and their uncle Pedro de Castro.
