This article presents three basic ideas in the prestigious educator' s thinking of the last century, Ercilia Pepín. The woman, the homeland, the school, constitute in the ideas of this teacher from Santiago, fundamental and inseparable pillar to achieve social progress. The woman and the school are called to be educated. The homeland, for its growth, development and continuity is based on the work that is forged from home and school. Women hall be cientifically educated to be taken into account as a dignified human being and as a citizen of a country that requires children who elevate them to the achievement of their purest civic, moral and social values. The woman and the school find in Ercilia Pepín and in Hostos a clear point of convergence: both are educators, both must be well-trained. It requires an education that is based on morality and that educate in the awarenes.
