Abstract

The phenomenon of rivalry between farmers and ranchers was already known from ancient times in the Old World, hence its existence in Latin America is the result of the transfer of identical economic guidelines in force in the Iberian Peninsula. Obviously, not in all the Indian territories this confrontation had the same characteristics; the particular conditions of each one of them produced very different reactions, the analysis of which gives special interest to the different regional studies that could be carried out on the subject.
