Despite the 4% allocation for education and the National Pact for Educational Reform 2014-2030, among other achievements, the dominican education system does not show improvements. One of the many possible explanations is that since 1992, during the First Ten-Year Education Plan, the emphasis on teacher training was focused on the degree and not on quality. This model was assumed in many universities and today there are mass-graduate teachers, without the necessary knowledge to enter the educational system. Since 2014, the hope for improvement of the Ministry of Education-MINERD has been set in the Strategy for Continuous School-Centered Training (EFCCE), a system that represents a paradigmatic change in teacher training. It concludes by analyzing the particular situation of history teachers, and it proposes topics to improve their.
