The text presented aims to analyze the state of the declared cultural landscapes in the main cities of the Caribbean, where fortifications form an essential element in the historical imaginary. Political administrations have been working on the development of protection programs for these spaces, generating multidisciplinary groups that advocate for the protection of cultural landscapes. In these, in addition to the architectural and geographical component, issues related to anthropology play an essential role, integrating numerous determining issues in the formation of a society. Precisely analyzing these components is the interest of this contribution, highlighting the differences and parallels between the different cities of the Caribbean.
