Author Biography

Joan M. Ferrer Rodríguez, Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), Dominican Republic, investigador asociado del Dominican Studies Institute (CUNY)

He holds a law degree from PUCMM, a master's degree in Genealogy and Archives from the University of Córdoba, and is an associate researcher at the Dominican Studies Institute (CUNY). He has studied history and paleography at various foreign universities. He is a member of the Dominican Academy of Genealogy and corresponds with the Dominican Academy of History and the Royal Academy of Heraldry of Madrid. He has published numerous articles in newspapers and specialized magazines, is the author of El primer viaje del Quijote a Santo Domingo. Comercio, cultura, política y sociedad en la Española del siglo XVII (Don Quixote's First Trip to Santo Domingo: Trade, Culture, Politics, and Society in 17th-Century Hispaniola), and co-author of Inquisición e Imaginario (Inquisition and Imagination).
